Crysencio Summerville could be on his way out of Leeds United in the January transfer window as his performances will be earning him admirers.

That’s according to journalist Suleyman Özturk, who believes the winger should also be a permanent fixture in the Netherlands squad under Ronald Koeman.

Summerville has started this season in superb form for Leeds with six goals and four assists in 11 games so far despite only featuring in 65% of the available minutes.

The season is looking likely to be a defining one for him if he continues on his current path, particularly as Leeds look to secure a quick return back to the Premier League.

Summerville might not be around long enough to help them achieve that, though, at least as far as Özturk is concerned.

“He is one of, if not the best player in the Championship,” he said.

“Clubs will come for him in January. Because they are looking for players who can make a difference. And he can. He is important with through passes, pulls two to three opponents with him and can play someone out.

“He reminds me a bit of Kaoru Mitoma. He really is a complete left winger. The Championship is a playground for him.”

In the meantime, Summerville will continue to shine for Leeds, with his performances so far meaning he has been involved in a goal every 136 minutes.

Those are the kind of numbers which would usually ensure a call up to the national side, but that is yet to happen for him with the Netherlands, where he has only featured for the youth sides.

Current Oranje boss Ronald Koeman is yet to give him his chance to impress, instead preferring to continue with the likes of Steven Bergwijn, Xavi Simons, Donyell Malen and Cody Gakpo, to name a few.

That’s wrong according to Özturk, who feels the Leeds star should be given his chance sooner rather than later.

“I think he is eligible for the Dutch team,” he added.

“You can bring him in in the last half hour, when the spaces become larger, and you have to force something against Italy or France. If Koeman takes football seriously, he will put him on the list.”

Leeds United fans may be hearing some rumours from Brazil saying the Whites are interested signing Joaquin Piquerez from Palmeiras.

It’s been said that the Whites, as well as other English clubs, and some sides from France, have been monitoring the 25-year-old.

Even though Piquerez has been doing great for Palmeiras, we’d say it’s better to wait for major media outlets to report Leeds’ interest before buying that.

One of the stories we’ve seen comes from Diego Firmino on Twitter, as well as other accounts on social media, and those are really not the most reliable sources out there.

Piquerez was one of the players who stood out in Palmeiras’ big 5-0 win over São Paulo on Wednesday evening, and since then, there have been many rumours about European clubs wanting him all of a sudden.

The player has been doing well for Palmeiras for a couple of seasons, and it’d be strange that those clubs only become interested in him just after the window closed.

So even though Leeds’ interest wouldn’t be shocking, we better hold up a little until something more reliable comes out.

Borussia Mönchengladbach need a ‘low double-digit million’ fee to sign Maximilian Wöber permanently from Leeds United this summer, something which means a deal is not guaranteed.

That’s according to Kicker, relayed by Fussball News, who a permanent stay for the Leeds loanee is ‘by no means guaranteed’ at this point.

Wöber is currently on loan with the German side after taking advantage of a clause in his contract at Elland Road that allowed him to leave temporarily following relegation.

He’s been a big hit at Gladbach since his arrival, establishing himself as a key player in their defence and earning rave reviews from fans and pundits alike.

The belief is that the German side would look at a permanent deal in the summer, although it has been made clear on several occasions that that entirely depends on whether Leeds are promoted this season.

Kicker now follow that up and say another potential impediment to the deal is the figure that Leeds would want for Wöber.

According to them, it would take ‘a transfer fee in the low double-digit million range’ for to convince Leeds into a sale.

They paid €12m to sign Wöber from RB Salzburg in the January transfer window so it’s easy to imagine they’d want at least that to let him go next summer.

Whatever the figure, it is seemingly one that Gladbach have doubts about paying, although it’s not clear if they think it’s too much or just don’t have the money to do the deal.

Either way, it seems there are plenty of doubts about whether Wöber will end up in Gladbach permanently once his loan deal comes to an end.

Leeds United midfielder Marc Roca could stay at Real Betis on loan again next year, as long as Daniel Farke’s side are not promoted back to the Premier League.

That’s according to Mucho Deporte, who cover the player today and how he’s on course for his best goalscoring season if he maintains his early season form.

They explain that Betis coach Manuel Pellegrini ‘has great confidence’ in the Leeds loanee and believes he can be a valid player in attack, leaving defensive duties to Guido Rodríguez y Andrés Guardado.

Roca has already scored two goals this season and if everything goes with a ‘certain normality’ then he should exceed that and, in the process, better his personal goalscoring record for a campaign. He’s never managed more than two for Espanyol, Bayern or Leeds.

Doing so at Betis would only further confirm to him and the Spanish club that the deal was a smart one to do and Mucho Deporte report it could be extended too.

Roca is only on loan at the club for the season, having taken advantage of a clause in his Leeds contract that allowed him to leave on loan following relegation.

He’s been delighted with the move to date, saying so whenever possible, and it’s even been reported in Spain that he’s shown a ‘total predisposition’ to staying at Betis long-term.

That could be on offer as it’s now claimed that his loan ‘could be extended for another year’, if Leeds are not promoted back to the Premier League.

Now, it’s not made clear if this is a clause in the original loan deal or it would simply be a case of Leeds letting him go again temporarily should they fail to return to the top flight.

Either way, this is the first we’ve heard of Roca’s loan potentially being extended so it’s something to keep an eye on moving forwards.

Robin Koch’s decision to join Eintracht Frankfurt on loan in the last window has paid off as he’s enjoyed an impressive start to this season.

The centre-back, who is still owned by Leeds United, has been one of the key players in helping the Bundesliga side have the best defensive record in the league. They have conceded only six goals from eight games.

According to Bild, the Leeds owned player is the German club’s ‘head of defence’ after playing a decisive role this season. They further add the 27-year-old has been ‘promoted to the team council’.

In September, Eintracht Frankfurt legend Charly Körbel had met Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann and had urged him to include Koch in the squad for October’s international break.

“Better take Robin Koch, you won’t go wrong,” he reportedly told Nagelsmann.

However, the former Bayern Munich manager didn’t call-up the 27-year-old, who’s last outing with the national team was in 2021.

His omission for the last two matches has not pleased Körbel, who has also explained why Nagelsmann must change his stance about the Leeds man.

“He hardly makes any mistakes in the game, has a good eye and top positioning. It’s not spectacular, but it’s incredibly safe, with this stability he holds everything together at the back,” Körbel explained.

“I didn’t understand that Robin wasn’t there on the trip to the USA, I would have taken him with me anyway. He deserves a chance in the national team, he doesn’t have to hide behind anyone. When I see the mistakes others make…”

Koch has already talked about his desire to represent Germany at the Euros next summer and Körbel has now sent a message to him.

“The European championship train hasn’t left for him yet, he has to keep hoping for his chance. He has to put Nagelsmann under pressure with strong performances, then a lot can happen,” he concluded.

Defender Robin Koch has insisted he enjoyed his time at Leeds United thoroughly, despite deciding to leave them on loan for Eintracht Frankfurt this summer.

The centre-back has been speaking to Kicker in Germany, relayed by Fussball News, about his career so far and his move to Frankfurt, which has so far been a successful one for him and the German club.

He joined them on loan in the summer transfer window, taking advantage of a clause in his contract at Elland Road that allowed him to leave temporarily following relegation to the Championship.

The departure from Elland Road is expected to be made a permanent one in the summer as his contract at Leeds expires and he is free to negotiate with Frankfurt from January 1st under the Bosman ruling. The Bundesliga side are also keen to get a deal wrapped up.

Should that happen, it will bring an end to a three-year spell with Leeds, who he joined in a €13m deal from SC Freiburg in August 2020.

He joined the club after they were promoted back to the top flight for the first time in 16 years under Marcelo Bielsa, a coach he, like many who’ve worked under him, he continues to rave about to this day.

“It was a very nice, challenging and instructive time,” he told Kicker regarding his Leeds spell.

“In Marcelo Bielsa, I had a special coach at times. I’ve never seen a coach who works in such detail. I don’t know how many games he watches a week. It feels like all of them.

“He knows pretty much everything about football, which is unbelievable. We always knew exactly what to expect because he analysed everything. (He’s) a world-class coach like Pep Guardiola.”

We’re sure at this point Leeds United fans are sick of hearing about how well their players are doing out on loan this season but, when it comes to Marc Roca, there’s no ignoring the fact.

That’s at least according to AS, who cover the player today and how he continues ‘on an upward trend’ with his recent performance in the 1-1 draw with Getafe.

The newspaper explains that with his goal in that game, the midfielder scored his second of the season and that, added to the one assist he’s managed this season too, means he’s now on three goal participations in 12 games this season.

That’s a ‘remarkable’ number for the player when compared to his numbers at Leeds last season, when it took him 36 games to hit the same tally.

He’s matched that tally in a third of the time at Betis and is even on course to better his best ever season.

He managed two goals and three assists in 44 games for Espanyol back in 2019/20, numbers that were part of the package that convinced Bayern Munich to sign him.

Roca eventually moved to Leeds and then Betis this summer, where his projection is to improve those numbers and set a new personal record to continue his quick improvement after a miserable year at Elland Road.

Leeds United are among the clubs to have watched goalkeeper Noel Törnqvist in action for Mjällby AIF this season.

The Sweden U21 international has kept 11 clean sheets and conceded 34 goals from 29 games this year. Recent claims from the Swedish press had stated that Daniel Farke’s side and FC Copenhagen had their scouts closely follow him in his side’s defeat to AIK.

Earlier this month, Mjällby sporting director Hasse Larsson revealed that Leeds are interested in the 21-year-old and also confirmed that their scouts have watched him.

Fotbollskanalen have had a chat with Törnqvist and he’s expressed his delight over the interest shown by Leeds and the Danish club.

“Of course, it’s great… An acknowledgment that you have done something good. It makes you happy and proud. It sounds cliché, but that’s kind of how it is. I’m very happy with my season,” he said.

With Leeds and other clubs in the mix, Larsson had earlier admitted that it’s difficult to talk about what could happen in January, while also insisting the Swedish side’s desire to retain the stopper.

According to Fotbollskanalen, the player is ‘well aware of the interest’ shown by the likes of the Whites and Copenhagen.

“You’re going to find out that clubs have been looking. But I’m fully focused on Mjällby. I don’t want to be so involved in whether there is interest or something,” Törnqvist explained.

“Of course, you hear it and find out. But it doesn’t matter to my game whether it’s one spectator, 10,000 spectators or 100,000 spectators. It’s not something I’m stressed about.”

The Swede has explained that he’s “incredibly” happy at Mjällby and wants to continue with them as regular game time is “important” for him. At the same time, he has also kept the door open for the transfer.

“It is important that the step is right for me. If it’s in Sweden or abroad, then when the time is right, we’ll see,” he added.

When asked about his dream league, he said: “It’s probably the Premier League and English football. You always remember when you were smaller with Saturdays at 4pm. You might have had a match of your own in the morning, then you met some friends and watched English football. So, England is the dream destination.”

Törnqvist’s comments will certainly please Leeds in their ongoing pursuit.

Maximilian Wöber could end up staying at Borussia Monchengladbach long-term after his loan from Leeds United comes to an end this summer.

That’s according to Rheinische Post, relayed by Sky Austria, who say any potential deal is dependent on how Leeds get on this season.

We covered a report yesterday explaining that Gladbach are essentially banking on Leeds failing to secure promotion this season to get Wöber on a permanent basis in the summer.

They go into further detail today, explaining that Gladbach are considering a permanent move for the loanee, who has impressed since his arrival from Leeds in the summer.

He’s convinced straight away at the German club but a permanent deal could be ‘difficult’ as the belief is that Leeds will only agree to sell if they miss out on promotion.

If that happens then the Whites would be ‘dependent’ on additional financial income and would therefore be willing to talk about a transfer and fee for Wöber.

However, if they manage to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking a sale to Gladbach seems unlikely as they’d want him as part of their squad.

Daniel Farke’s side are currently fifth in the table and in the play-off places but nine points behind the top two, so promotion is not guaranteed at this early stage.

Either way, it’s key to Wöber’s future, with Gladbach seemingly thinking a deal is only possible if Leeds don’t get back to the Premier League this year.

Eintracht Frankfurt could look to enter negotiations with Leeds United to make Robin Koch’s loan deal a permanent one once the January transfer window opens.

That’s according to Sport 1, who say there is no intention from the German club or the player to let their association be a short-term one.

Koch is currently on loan with the Bundesliga side, after joining from Leeds in the summer following their relegation to the Championship.

He’s been a regular since his arrival and established himself as a key player in the heart of their defence, with a series of impressive performances earning him rave reviews and helping Frankfurt to eighth place.

He’s regularly been speaking about his delight at how things are going, and they’re also delighted with him, so much so that plans are already afoot to make his move a permanent one.

According to Sport 1, both sides believe it’s been a ‘perfect match so far’ and the plan is to continue that if that is possible.

According to their information, the plan from the club and the professional’s side is ‘clearly aimed’ at a long-term stay and negotiations can, and presumably will be conducted from January 1st on this front.

Nobody at Eintracht wants to miss out on Koch and they want to make him a central building block. He has likewise, with his public comments, made it clear he wants to stay so reaching an agreement shouldn’t be difficult.

What isn’t clear is how Leeds factor into it. Koch has a contract with them until the summer of 2024, but he is free to negotiate with clubs from January under the Bosman ruling.

So therefore, it remains to be seen if Eintracht plan to get him to sign a pre-contract agreement, or even if they can alongside his loan deal, or perhaps pay Leeds a fee to sign him permanently six months earlier.

Back in the summer it was claimed the Germans had paid €500,000 for the loan to avoid future problems, so it also remains to be seen how that factors into things moving forward. Either way, it seems everyone is happy, and Koch will be moving permanently at some point.
